Are you a student in Kamloops, BC or thinking of visiting this year? I have put together a list of my personal favourite places in the city! If you feel that you have done everything there is to do, take a look at my list below to see if you're missing something interesting! I hope you enjoy reading and, if you decide to check out one of these destinations, that you have fun!

#10: Thompson Rivers University

As a student attending this university and having lived in the city for two years, I can confidently say that you can't find nicer study spots in the city than on the campus. Being a student is a big part of my life and the campus has provided me with nice study spots and beautiful views when walking from one building to another. I have become use to the university now, but when I toured for the first time I couldn't get over how beautiful it was!

#9: Sandman Centre

Although I am not a hockey fan, I love watching the sport! If you're a hockey fan you will want to go catch a Kamloops Blazers hockey game in their stunning arena!

#8: Riverside Park

Riverside Park is located right next to the Thompson River. It offers a trail that people in the community bike, run, or walk their dogs on while absorbing the fresh & clean air with the calming view of the mountains and water.

#7: Kamloops Lake

Located just 20 minutes from Thompson Rivers University, this lake has breath-taking views for such a little hike! Check out photos on Google to see just how beautiful the view of the mountains, water, and forests are.

#6: Hello Toast

If you're a fan of breakfast food, you are going to want to come here! The staff are so friendly and their traditional breakfast is my all-time favourite! Whether you like french toast or omelettes they've got it!

#5: Shark Club

When I use to go clubbing, the Shark Club was the place to go. What made it great was that a lot of students from TRU and people I knew went there too! It was a fun atmosphere and is actually one of the only clubs in the city.

#4: Carlos O'Bryans Neighborhood Pub

The older I've gotten the more I enjoy going to a bar than clubbing. Carlos O'Bryans is a multi-levelled pub that offers tasty food, especially their pachos. They have lots of comfortable seating indoors and outdoors with a floor downstairs to play pool!

#3: Tournament Capital Centre

Being the sports fan I am, I love going to the Tournament Capital Centre to watch a game, especially basketball. It's only a couple dollars to get in and the gym has a huge area of bleachers so you can get the perfect viewing spot!

#2: Tiger Ramen

I thought I wasn't a ramen fan until I ate here! It is affordable, has positive online reviews, and makes you want to come back for more. Obviously it's important to be good with your money, but sometimes you need more Tiger Ramen in your life!

#1: Sun Peaks

Before I started my degree at Thompson Rivers University, my family and I stayed in a cabin in Kamloops for a week during the summer and hiked at Sun Peaks. The hike wasn't too difficult and the view was stunning! Besides hiking, you can bike, canoe, golf, horseback ride, paddle board and so much more during the summer.
