Hello and welcome back to my blog! I thought it would be interesting to explain my job this summer as it is valuable work experience for my future career path. I hope you enjoy reading and thanks for visiting my blog!

In the middle of April I was offered a social media position at LN Group Branding and Promotions. This position was originally a part-time, however I was seeking full-time work so I had to do more than just social media to be able to get full-time hours! As a brief overview, LN Group offers products and services that include:

- Promotional Products (Bags, Drinkware, Gift Sets)

- Headwear & Apparel (Dress wear, Casual wear, Work & Safety wear)

- Signage (Window Graphics, Wall Graphics, Door Decals)

- Vehicle Branding (Car Decals, Trailer Decals, Boat Decals)

- Awards & Recognition (Trophies, Plaques, Medals)

- Screen Printing

- Embroidery

- Cad Cutting (cutting vinyl and heat-pressing it onto a fabric)

- Print Services (digital printing, including business cards, folding brochures, tickets & posters)

- Sublimation (heat-pressed onto name tags, luggage tags, medallions trophies)

In my first week of work I was mostly being trained. I was given access to their current social media platforms, created new ones, and created content to post. I was taught how to clone, add, and edit work orders on the program the company uses. I was also taught how to assist in the many services they provide to customers. It definitely took a week and a bit more to get a handle on how to do tasks correctly and efficiently, but it has been interesting for me!

Whether it is a job for this summer or five years in the future, I also wanted (and still want) to ensure that a job I have will give me valuable and beneficial work experience for future high-standing jobs. I went into the job searching and applying process in February and March with the sole purpose of finding a job for the summer of 2018 that is related to marketing, advertising, or something along those lines... and I did. It was a long and difficult process, but I couldn't be more happy about the job I have for the summer and possibly longer.

A typical work day for me starts with getting up at 6:50am and getting myself ready for work. My boyfriend and I both start at 8:00am, so he drives me to work around 7:40am and then he heads to work. He works at an engineering firm if you were wondering! I work from 8:00-4:30pm from Monday to Friday, so I pack a lunch every day and keep it in the fridge in the kitchen room. I unpack my backpack and get an idea of what I might do for the day and then look for work to do! As I mentioned earlier, this position was originally a part-time position, so for me to make it full-time, I find myself assisting others in the company and keeping myself busy. I typically help the workers in the warehouse with catching and packing t-shirts we have implemented logos and designs onto. The machine is very fast so it always keeps me on my feet! I check out the work order sheet and make sure that every shirt is the right size and accounted for and pack it for the customer to pick up. It's actually pretty fun for me and we have some catchy tunes playing during those hours! I assist with cleaning and packing for the most part in the warehouse. This is also where most of the action is, so I find myself taking photos and videos for social media content! If I am not assisting in the warehouse, I head upstairs to help with print services, cad cutting, or working with work orders. There is a creative and funky vibe to the company that I like and I enjoy what I do each day...especially creating content!

What I like most about my job is that every day is different! There is no set routine that could become boring or repetitive. It's new and creative and the hours tend to fly by. I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post and consider seeking work experience this summer or even next summer that is related to your future career.
