How To Give A Great Class Presentation

If you're in high school, you will most likely have to do a class presentation at least once every year. I know that most of us dislike the idea of having to do a presentation... so the only good thing that can come from this is getting a good grade... so I've come up with advice to make you as prepared as you can be for your next class presentation!

1) BEFORE THE DAY OF THE PRESENTATION

- re read the content of your presentation, whether that's your powerpoint slides, poster, cue cards, or scripts because if you have make accidentally errors, it's better to know before the presentation rather than during it

- practice presenting your content in front of your mirror or in front of your friends

* practicing how you will be presenting will make you more comfortable when the time comes to actually present

* if you are doing a group presentation, then practicing with your group will ensure that everyone knows what they are suppose to say and when they have to say it

2) THE DAY OF THE PRESENTATION

- the one thing that everyone wants to know is how to get rid of nervousness before a presentation, and the truth is that you can't, it's a natural feeling that we get so trust me when I say that you're not the only one that feels the way you feel

- from personal experience and from talking to others, I can truthfully say that the nervousness and all the other feelings you get BEFORE a presentation goes away DURING and AFTER the presentation // it's surprising how much we all feel afraid before a presentation, because if you really think about it it's not that bad!

- be confident, I know that it's easy said then done but you put time and effort into the presentation and owe it to yourself to present all your hard work to the best of your ability!

- talk slowly... you may be tempted to rush through your sentences but talking clearly and slowly will make your presentation more effective and the audience will be able to understand what your saying so much easier

* you may know the information you are presenting very well, but the audience is only hearing it for the first time

I hope you apply these tips for your next class presentation! I know that most of us do not like the idea of presenting in front of the class, but with strong presentation skills... what's not to like! Knowing how to present effectively, is a great skill not only in school but in your everyday life!
