What School Supplies You ACTUALLY NEED

Back to school time is only a couple weeks away, which means that new school supplies are just arriving! You may be drawn to buy everything you see... all of the nice looking prints and designs are so hard to choose from... but WAIT. What do you really need to buy for high school? I've spent four years in high school so I definitely have a grasp of what you need and what you don't.

1) small supplies you NEED:
pens, fine liners, pencil crayons & markers, highlighters, white out, sharpener, ruler, pencil case, calculator, erasers, paper reinforcements, and a gym lock
Over the years, I noticed that most students didn't have white out fine liners, or even red pens with them... so I suggest having your own so when the time comes to use it... it's easily accessible for you!
small supplies you DON'T NEED:
scissors, glue, stapler, hole puncher, and tape
These supplies listed above were always available in each my classrooms... when I needed to staple essay papers together it was on my teachers desk to use, when I needed to glue pictures onto my project it was there for me to use. Therefore I suggest not spending the extra $30 on the items listed because you will have access to them at school.

2) large supplies you NEED:
binders, notebooks, paper, and tab page dividers
These large supplies are very important to have. For binders, make sure to buy the right amount and the right ones because buying more than you need can become expensive. If you can, try to figure out if you will use one binder for one subject or more than one... and base the size of the binder you pick... on that. Also look for a binder with an inside sleeve on both sides because it will definitely come in handy with loose papers and little things.

3) What you don't think of buying... but should!
dictionary & page markers
You will most likely not be able write inside your textbooks so I suggest using page markers so that you know where you left off in that textbook and can put reminders of the important information. If you are taking a french, spanish, or any other language class you should invest in a quality dictionary. I cannot tell you how often I needed a dictionary... but there weren't enough in the class for everyone to use.
